While it wasn’t quite a cliffhanger, it left many unanswered questions. In fact, the ending to the story was a bit abrupt. But the end seemed very out of character for him and abrupt to me. From the moment you found me, I’ve seen nothing but you.”Įva’s roommate Cary, was a great character as well, and I look forward to learning more about him. His blue eyes blazed with power and heat. “How do you see me while staring at whatever you’re working on?” Let me tell you, my husband was a very happy man this week! First Knight, by Kristen Ashley, then this. Again, it’s not BDSM, but still has that commanding, dominant alpha male who just can’t keep his hands off of his woman. But his commanding nature still gives you those same quivers! This is definitely an erotic read. While he threatens to put Eva over his knee (again, HOT), he never does. Gideon has a dominant nature (HOT) but without the Red Room of Pain (so far).

And when he catches her….WOW….he can catch me anytime! Whew! They had such chemistry. Her worst issue is that she runs away from everything. Eva can protect herself, is very fit and takes Krav Maga. Eva has a wealthy stepdad who indulges her mother’s overprotective impulses. This story did not have the Cinderella type story that Fifty has. She was also sexually abused as a child, so both characters were working out issues. If this was as long as the whole Fifty Shades series, it may be a toss-up which I like better.Įva, unlike Ana, was a woman with some experience. Eva is also literally sprawled on the floor when she meets him. He sees a psychiatrist, and becomes obsessive over the heroine, Eva, enough to change everything for her, it seems. He has an evil female best friend who wants him and has never really committed. He is broken from some sort of sexual abuse. Gideon Cross is rich as sin and beautiful. I feel bad that everyone compares it to Fifty Shades of Grey, but how can you help it?

I really loved Bared to You (A Crossfire Novel) by Sylvia Day.
